The Vision
Thousands of Americans, Canadians, and Europeans have chosen Mérida for its colonial beauty, its warmth, and its remarkable affordability. But until now, one question has kept many from making the move — or forced longtime expats to return north: what happens when I need care?
Why Mérida
Mérida is not a compromise. It is the reason people come — and The Meridian is the reason they can stay.
Mérida is consistently ranked among the safest cities in the Americas — a walkable, culturally rich capital with a thriving, established international community.
The city is home to modern private hospitals that serve the international community, with internationally trained, English-speaking physicians and specialists.
The cost of premium care in Mérida allows a lifestyle — private suites, chef-prepared dining, full amenities — that would be out of reach for most retirees north of the border.
La Colonia
La Colonia is The Meridian's master-planned village — a colonial neighborhood built from the ground up and designed to be car-free. Brick-paved lanes carry golf carts and mobility scooters, not cars. Sidewalks are wide, smooth, and shaded. Plazas, gardens, cafés, and every residence connect to the main community — and because every street, walkway, and doorway is built new, every one of them is designed for this chapter of life. In every villa and residence, Meridian care staff are available à la carte — from a few hours of help each week to daily support — so you pay only for the care you actually want.
The Casa Collection
Beyond the village, The Meridian Casa Collection restores the city's beloved colonial homes and mansions — boutique senior residences in the very neighborhoods that made Mérida famous. Each casa keeps everything the centro histórico is loved for — the colors, the tall doors, the courtyards, the light — thoughtfully renovated for comfort, safety, and accessibility. Every casa is served by Meridian care staff on an à la carte basis — support that scales from occasional help to daily care, chosen by you. And each carries its own name beside the Meridian compass at its door: a home in the city, never a room in a facility.

Concept renderings of the community now in development — hacienda courtyards, resort amenities, and residences designed for comfort, dignity, and joy.
Never Far From Family
The hardest question about moving abroad is never about you — it is about the people who love you. The Meridian is designed so that distance never feels like distance.
Care & Wellness
The Meridian is being designed around a simple promise: care standards you recognize, delivered by people who understand you — in the place you have chosen to call home.
Hospital & physician network: The Meridian's care model is anchored by direct, in-house contracts with the area's top hospitals, physicians, and specialists serving the international community — giving every resident a defined, trusted pathway from daily care through specialist and acute care. These agreements are in development and will be announced as they are finalized.

Investors & Partners
The international retiree population in Mexico is large and growing — and purpose-built, expat-focused assisted living remains dramatically undersupplied. The Meridian at Mérida is the first of a planned portfolio of communities. Investor materials are available upon request.
